While I was in DC over the weekend I was nominated for a Liebster Award by the lovely Tasteful Tillys! What is a Liebester? The Liebster Awards are a way to highlight smaller blogs (i.e. ones with less than 200 followers). I'm so thrilled to have been chosen and to have the chance to share the love with some of my favorite small blogs!

11 fun facts about soju + ravioli:
1. I loathe tomatoes (yes I have tried them).
2. I love the idea of having a garden but I'm so bad at growing things I've even managed to kill cacti.
3. I try out new makeup looks just for fun, even if I have nowhere to go.
4. I watched a lot of SpongeBob when I was in law school. A lot.
5. There's (almost) nowhere in the world I wouldn't go.
6. The first time I cooked my own meals from scratch on a regular basis was when I was in Italy.
7. I changed majors 6 times in college and still graduated in 4 years.
8. I used to be picky about food. Then I lived in Seoul for 2 months.
9. I was wholly uninterested in getting a driver's license when I was 16. There was no reason for it. I just wasn't feeling it.
10. I'm a proud Catholic but I experimented with being everything from a Baptist to a Buddhist in college before returning to the Church.
11. Ice cream fixes everything in my book.
Questions from Tasteful Tillys
Q: What kind of animal do you look like?
A: That's a hard one! I surveyed several people and so far I've gotten rare loon (thanks dad?) and a koala bear cause I'm super cuddly.
Q: What is your favorite kind of cheese?
A: All of them. Except brie. Not a fan.
Q:How much are you willing to spend on a pair of shoes?
A. Depends on the shoe. Trendier shoes I'll max out around $40-50. Running shoes I'll go up to $200. Now if we're talking a good pair of black pumps then there's no limit to what I'll spend (well other than the one set by my bank account. Obviously.).
Q: Who is your favorite Avenger and why?
A: I have to go with Iron Man. Sure he's kind of a word I wouldn't say on here, but he totally owns it. His sense of humor is killer and his looks aren't too shabby either ;).
Q: What is your favorite dessert?
A. ICE CREAM. Or maybe a cannoli. OR ice cream and a cannoli. Even better. Let's go with ice cream & a cannoli.
Q: What 3 things would you need if you were stranded on a desert island?
A: A library worth of books, chapstick, and a journal
Q: What song best describes your life right now?
A: Everything at Once by Lenka. It's kind of the story of my life: I want to be and do all of the things. I'm one of those people that will be 60 and still not know what they want to be when they grow up.
Q: What two celebrities would you pick to be your parents?
A: Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.
Q: What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
A: It's a tie between peppermint and the weird orange sherbet with dark chocolate chunks that my mom used to buy us as children and that I have never ever ever seen in stores again.
Q: What kitchen utensil would you be? Why?
A: Probably a coffee mug (is that a utensil?) bearing warmth and calm.
Q: What motivates you to have a blog?
A: It started as a way to share my adventures studying abroad in Italy. My motivation changes frequently but the main focus has always been on just having an outlet that allows me to write. I've loved writing since I was a child and blogging lets me do that without necessarily writing an entire book or something along those lines. It's a lot freer than writing a book because I'm able to change my writing style and try new things. It's a good way to figure out what works and what doesn't. Oh and of course to share the strange things that continue to happen to me, regardless of my location on this earth.
