Weekly Photo Fun #9

I promise I'll give you a full update on the Lone Star State soon, but for now you'll have to settle for some photos from my trip. One of the things the Lone Star State is known for is its beautiful wildflowers. The most famous of these wildflowers is the state flower: the bluebonnet. Every spring the state just erupts with beautiful flowers. On my drive from Waco back to Houston I stopped to take a few pictures of the painted roadside.

I don't know what this red flower is, but it was growing right beside the patch of bluebonnets. I had to snap a few pictures of it.

While I don't miss the humidity and lack of seasons throughout much of Texas, I do sorely miss the wide open skies and the beautiful wildflowers.
